default
Posted on Thu, 3 Nov 2016
Question: I have had burning midback pain, tingling, and numbness along my shoulder blades for quite some time now. It comes and goes. I am a 59 yr old female that had L5 S1 surgery in 1992 and again in 1996. I was diagnoised in 92 with degenerative disk disease. I also have osteoarthritis. Could these conditions be causing my pain?

Brief Answer:
seems to be due to degenerative cervical disc disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

How was your day?

Hope this message finds you in good health.

I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.
Looking at your medical history,it seems that you have generalised weak bones and degenerative disc disease of the spine as a whole.

usually burning back pain, and tingling numbness along shoulder blades indicate degenerative disc disease of the lower cervical spine-especially C5-6-7 discs, that may compress the adjoining spinal nerves .

you should get an xray / mri of the cervical spine done. for immediate relief, take anti inflammatory analgesic tablets, apply local analgesic sprays/gels. avoid taking pillow beneath your head during sleeping,as this may aggravate your problems,

if you are experiencing lower neck pain, then using cervical collar may help.

once you get an mri done, let me know the report so that i could guide you further.

you should be eventually alright, nothing to worry
I hope your question has been answered.

Feel free to consult me anytime for follow-up queries.

Take care,God bless.
Wish you a healthy life : )
