As per your complain raised white bump on the side of tongue that is painful is pointing towards Apthous ulcer or Canker sore..
But for a confirmation and better advice please provide following details..
1.Since how many days is the bump present?
2.Did you bite your tongue accidentally?

Thanks for the answers..
It looks like a Canker sore only and nothing serious..
So do not worry about it..
You can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the lump to relieve pain..
Take Vitamin B complex supplements..
Continue doing warm saline gargles..
You can suck ice lollies to reduce inflammation and pain..
Soda bicarb gargle can also help..
You should avoid spicy and hard foods as they can further cause irritation..
It will hopefully resolve in another 3-4 days..
