Suggest Treatment For Painful Bruises On Knee

Question: ya a couple of small tiny bruises on knee of an 85 year old woman been their about 1week or so .had a small sliding fall getting up on her own..she needs assist when walks.nothing unusual looking after fall,no swelling she crosses leg a lot .which is common .knee with bruise looks very similar to knee without bruise except bruising.she has some arthritis I believe mention to me by doctor in hip.she is now complaining of pain in knee when I assist her with walking.she has some dementia.

 Have read your query and understood your concern.
Bruising is very common in old age as well as due to any injury, so there is nothing to do anything specific about it. It would gradually get all right.
As far pain is concerned,continue local icing and give ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day for 4-5 days to take care of inflammation as well as pain.This pain would also settle down soon.
