Suggest Treatment For Painful Bump At The Site Of Bruising

Question: Hi, about 4 weeks ago, or more, I dropped something on top of my bare foot. It bled, bruised and it appeared that I had broken a blood vessel. I cleaned it and put Neosporene on it. The wound healed, but when I wear certain shoes my foot swells. The swelling goes away, however a lump then forms. It's painful to the touch. I am able to walk on my foot, so it appears there's no broken bones. I do not have health insurance, would love to see a doctor, but I'm afraid it would be too expensive. I'm looking for answers to self heal my foot. Please advise. Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

I would advise you to not put too much strain on the affected foot by avoiding any heavy exercise for at least 2 weeks. The wound/ lump / swelling needs to be examined. Normally it should heel adequately, if there is persistence then diabetes workup should be done. Blood sugar and HBA1C levels can be advised. If vascular compromise is suspected the Doppler ultrasound of the lower limbs should also be advised, in consultation with your doctor. There are no short cuts for self healing.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
