Brief Answer:
dacryocystitis inflammation of lacrimal gland

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

Your description is most likely due to lacrimal gland (sac) inflammation which is a tear gland. Hence you have the watering. Do you have any other discharge?

You should see a doctor for syringing and check if the sac drainage is obstructed. All in all you should take NSAID drugs as tablets and antibiotics first to check if this helps for at least a week or two.

If this conservative therapy does not help you may need a procedure to treat it. We need to understand if this a long standing inflammation or short term to determine the course of therapy.

This is not a common condition but is treatable if presented early to your doctor.

I hence suggest to see an eye specialist. If you have any other queries please let me know. You can close our discussion if you do not have any more queries.

You suggest to see an eye MD early. The condition has been going on for about 3 or 4 days. Have I waited too long to expect quick improvement? I have a little bit of crust. I am also an RA patient and on Enbrel. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It would not improve quickly

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

THis conditions would not improve quickly. Natural improvement may not occur without medications.

RA patients will have dry eyes so watering may be result of it. I suggest you to see the eye MD now.

Hope this answers.
