default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: I have several painful bumps on the tip of my tongue, as well as the sides that are painful as well. My glands under my tongue are enlarged. I feel lightheaded and its its beginning to hurt when I breathe. I'm also nauseous as well. Yesterday I was exposed to paint fumes while painting a truck undercarriage for several house, and I didn't think to use a mask. Could the paint fumes be what's making me sick?

Brief Answer:
Possible allergic ulceration.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern.

I have gone through your uploaded images.

Yes, possibly they could have resulted from paint fume inhalation.

This could be a chemical allergic reaction.

A possible viral role also cannot be ruled out.

Viral ulcers are also known to cause multiple painful ulcers.

For such symptoms, I generally treat my patients with a short course of Multivitamins/Riboflavin, antiallergics and antiviral drugs (valacyclovir). Please check with your doctor if he shares my view and if can prescribe them to you.

The above treatment should make you comfortable.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
