TVS scan needed to identify and treat if there are problems
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns about pain during sex. From your query it seems that she has lost the feelings towards sexual pleasure as it is more of painful experience for her than pleasure.
In my opinion, the source of her pain needs to be identified and treated to make her comfortable and the sex no more painful. Most common reason for such pain is endometriosis which causes the pain during sex. This happens due to long time accumulation of blood is ovaries.
The other possibilities include fibroid in uterus and adenomyosis. These can be easily identified using transvaginal ultrasound scan ( TVS). Please request her gynecologist to perform TVS scan to identify these problems.
These can be removed laparoscopically if found on ultrasound scan. This will make her pain to disappear forever and she is likely to feel interested in sex again.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya
