Question : I felt pain and a lump below my stomach and thigh area. The doctors thought it was a hernia but after ultrasound they mentioned that noted that there is no inguinal or femoral hernia .There are 3 prominent lymph nodes measuring upto 1.3 x 6 mm. There is hyperemia at the hilum. Post this the doctors ruled out hernia and advised medication.

Now after two days I see that the pain and redness has increased , I also not rashes near my testicles and skin in that area along with itchiness and slightly burning sensation in passing urine. Please advise what this could be ? I am worried as I am not sure of the next steps and time /process taken to cure this .

Brief Answer:
It is a soft tissue infection probably related to the groin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam,
This sounds like some infection related to your husbands groin area. Without examining him it would be difficult to say what it is.
It could possibly be a Skin related infection of the scrotum which has lead to the inguinal lymph node enlargement.
I suggest you see a Surgeon or Urologist who can examine you and advice accordingly.
Or you could post a photo of the skin lesion and the nodal enlargement so we can get a better idea.
He will require a course of antibiotics for at least 7 days. But first you should get a CBC blood test and Urine culture done to rule out UTI.
I usually start Tab Augmentin and Tinidazole as broad spectrum antibiotic cover for a week. This should usually take care of the infection.
Do let me know if there are any other queries that I can answer.
Take care and happy fast recovery.
