Brief Answer:
Relax, you can't die from this.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms XXXXXXX

Welcome to healthcaremagic and thank you for trusting us with your health concern.

Please calm down and relax, nothing is going to happen to you.

Your doctor has prescribed you antibiotics to prevent any infection, if you are not allergic to the particular group of antibiotics, then you have absolutely nothing to be worried about.

You will be fine and you won't die because you plucked some hair out of your nostrils.

Hope you will find this helpful, do write back to me if you need any clarification.

Warm regards

Brief Answer:
Trauma due to pulling out hair is too trivial to cause anything.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again Ms XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing back.

The trauma caused as a result of you pulling out some hair from nostrils is too insignificant to cause any problem, so a fever wouldn't be because of that trivial injury.

If you do not have any pain or pus formed in the nostrils where you pulled the hairs out from, then you can be absolutely certain that even if you have developed fever, it is just coincidental and not related.

Complete the course of antibiotics, you will be fine.

If there is indeed (a big if) in the area and that has spread, then you will have fever, and the fever will gradually reduce over a period of 2 to 3 days even with you taking the antibiotics.

Antibiotics do not suddenly reduce fever, but they cure of the infection that is responsible for the fever.

So, to answer your question directly, NO, persisting fever (for the initial few days) while taking antibiotics is not a sign of antibiotics not working, if the fever persists even after completing the full course of antibiotics (that is 5 to 7 days), then you could say that antibiotics did not work.

Do not think too much, just forget it and relax.

Best regards

Is it normal to be sore? It looks like i scratched it when i look in the mirror?

Brief Answer:
Yes, a little pain is quite normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Yes, it is quite normal for the area to be slightly painful/sore for one or two days, by now you must be feeling better. Do not keep touching the area, just leave it alone to heal. And yes it might look like you have scratched it because of some mild trauma to the skin while pulling out the hair, it will be alright soon.

Complete the course of your antibiotics and stop worrying unnecessarily.

All the best.
