Suggest Treatment For Painful Rashes On The Ankle

default
Posted on Fri, 12 May 2017
Question: I have worn a latex support stocking for years but have recently developed a painful rash on my ankle. My pharmacist suggested Perrigo Hydrocortisone Cream 1%. I have used it about three weeks now, but the rash hasn't lessened and is more painful.
Can you tell me of a treatment that would be more satisfactory?

Brief Answer:
upload pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I would recommend you to upload the pictures of the affected areas so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.
Meanwhile you can use a topical antibiotic like neosporin ointment on the rash twice daily.

I have been using a Rx of Santyl sparingly twice daily and taking Doxycycline HCL 100MG since I first contacted you and went to a Dr. He game me a 10 day Rx. I have been to see him 3 times and have an appointment for Tuesday, April 25. Tuesday he also prescribed a second cream, .1% Gm Gentamicin Ointment--18 Gm.
Could you tell me the name of what I might have? The Dr. said if it was in the bone it could spread throughout my body so I'm relieved it isn't in the bone yet.I don't have the photos but the sore is about 1/2 inch in diameter and 1/3 inch deep. It has a rash around it.He also gave me a refill of the 10 day supply (taken twice daily after food) of the Doxyclicline tabs.
