Suggest Treatment For Painful Swelling Of The Tonsils

default
Posted on Tue, 9 May 2017
Question: About 3 weeks ago I had a swollen tonsil, very swollen and painful. It cleared up in 2 or 3 days and about that same time I thought I had slept wrong and a resulting stiff neck. I seem to have a dull earache. All of this is on the right side. Is all of this a coincidence? Should I go to the doctor?

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
Neck pain and earache can be due to muscle spasm but at the same time as there is history of tonsillitis, it can be a neck abscess or tonsillar abscess. My advice is you should get yourself examined by an ENT SPECIALIST or at least send me the pictures of your throat so that I can suggest you better.
Take care
Thanks and regards

Would this also result in a low grade headache? I also developed tonsil stones in the last 2 or 3 years. Correlated??

I am unclear as to how to take pictures of my throat and if I could how to send them to you. My throat is a healthy pink and the stones are generally the size of the head of a pin and they come and go. They are white and somewhat hard. There are several white bumps also on the right next to the tonsil area.
