Question : my mom is 77 and she is experiencing rapid heart beat and shortness of breath. When she is sitting her bp is 115/67 pulse 107 and she is fine. When she gets up and walks to the bathroom and comes back she is out of breath and her bp is 112/85 and pulse 136. Not sure what is going on. No chest pain. She has dementia and but is healthy otherwise. Please advise?

Need further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Dyspnea on exertion is a serious thing & should always be evaluated. This is generally a sign of weak heart.
I'll recommend for a urgent ECG, 2D Echo & a chest X Ray for cardiac evaluation.
If you have any more question, I'll be happy to help.
Thanks
Take care
