Question : My son is bipolar and was just diagnosed with Pancreatitis. Could his meds be causing this?

Hi and welcome to HCM.

Yes, some medications, including antidepressants may have caused pancreatitis. Most common causes are biliary stones and alcohol intake but in his age, this is less common so medication may be considered as primary cause.

At this point, it is important for him to recover and then he should do tests to rule out biliary stones and if he stated to take new medication recently, he should discuss therapy change with his doctor.
