Suggest Treatment For Panic Attacks, Depression And PTSD

Posted on Thu, 12 Nov 2015
Question: I started going through perimenopause at 43. I was having a real hard time controlling my emotions. At the age of 47 they finally tested my hormone level. I was have way through on the scale. Now 11 years later I am having panic attacks and some depression. I do not like to leave the house and go anywhere unless my husband or mother-In-law will take me (I start panicing before I have to leave and usually don't go). Do postmenopausal women still go through anxiety and depression. I also have PTSD. I was supposed to go to the grocery store today and just cannot do it because of panic. I am very chemically sensitive to treatments. What can I do to get my life back? Have a very understanding husband. Don't know how he puts up with my mood swings and not wanting to go anywhere. My house is my safe XXXXXXX It does not take much for these episodes to happen. I am a constant worrier and always have been.

Brief Answer:
Certain medications can make a good difference in your life.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have very carefully gone through the details and fully understand your concerns. Let me assure you that there are many people who face similar problems as yours. Yet they tend to show dramatic improvement with interventions. There are certain medications which can dramatically improve your situation. Prodep (Fluoxetine) serves both an an anxiolytic as well as a mood stabilizer and can be given safely for long term use. But you need to visit a psychiatrist who would be able to prescribe such medicines as well as do proper long term follow up which is very essential. He would also be able to undertake cognitive behavioral therapy which can greatly improve your situation.
Let me know if I could be of further help.
Regards
