Suggest Treatment For Penis Corona

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: I put on new underwear and the lip(corona) of my penis was irritated. It was very sensitive to touch, but only a small section was. So I put bacitracen on it for a day or so, and the irritation went away. I did have sex with my girl while I had this irritation. Do you think that I transmitted anything to her? Because this is now the 4th day and she hasn't mentioned anything to me.I wanted to mention, also, that I changed the new underwear and didn't feel that irritation anymore.

Brief Answer:
irritation due to injury is not transmitable

Detailed Answer:
Dear xxxxxxx442002,

Thank you for your query, and thank you for trusting us at HCM to answer your question. I will answer your question to the best of my knowledge.

Short answer is you didnt transimt the irriation to her, since the irritation was probably caused by a small trauma to your penis caused by the underwear.

What happened is you had a small skin abrasion probably caused by your new underwear, this lead to the irritation feeling you described, and most probably having this skin abrasion or injury was the reason you felt this irritation again while having intercourse.

Hearing that the irritaiton is gone once you changed the underwear is reassuring that no uretheral or urinary tract problem is to be suspected.

Nevertheless to be on the safe side, it is advisable that you contact a uninary tract specialist, in order to have a proper physical examination and history, plus getting a urine analysis, and bacterial cutlure, all to make sure whatever caused this irritation was not because of an underlying infection that made the skin to be extra sensitive.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any further question.

Best regards,
Dr. Nazzal
