Suggest Treatment For Perforated Septum Post Septoplasty

Question : I have bad complications form a turbinectomy septoplasty, on 28th of may , perforated septum , hole growing, and bad crusting, I am very upset and preoccupied with it. congestion goes up and down and breathing is difficult at times. I also have whistling in the nose. I think the wound is breaking down each day. what should I do.

Continue saline rinse , spray & use ointment .

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , seen picture , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

After reading your clinical history it appears that you are having perforated septum complication of septoplasty .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice

continue saline rinse & Saline nasal spray thrice daily to remove crust ,
Steam Inhalation twice daily ,
Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination at night to decrease congestion ,
Tab vitamin C twice daily to promote healing &
ointment neosporin twice daily in nose to treat infection & prevent drying .

Wound will heal early .

After wound healing , you can go for septal button for septal hole closure or go for septal hole repair surgery . For septal hole repair surgery you will need experience surgeon in this procedure since success rate is around 80% .
