Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Small vessels ischemic disease ( or pontine hyperintense lesions ) is associated with significant atherosclerosis.
Conditions that may be associated with pontine hyperintense lesions include:
- strokes
- hypertension, myocardial infarction
- diabetes
- hypercholesterolemia
If sensory pathways in pons are affected by infarction, then there is a relationship between imaging studies findings and symptoms.
It does mean that there is necessary to be evaluated about above mentioned conditions, and, after that, to be treated in order to stop progressive changes of brain.
Discuss with your Doctor about these issues and examinations.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist further.
Greetings.
