Pressure bandage fr at least 1 hour.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Male/59 - blood just shoots out after picking a little scab on calf - you stopped with pressure and tape but start again when taken off...
This indicates that there is either a vein or an artery which also got opened up with removal of the scab. for such a bleeding you need to give persistent pressure. Hence you need to apply a sterile gauze or a pad and apply the tight bandage; the tape may not help. Maintain this for at least 1 hour.
This would help most of the times. It is very rare that you may need an assistance of a Nurse or a Doctor.
I hope you are no under any blood thinners, and you do not have varicose veins.
I also hope that this answers your query, please feel free to ask for relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
