Question : hello, my name is XXXXXXX
I am having an issue with some mystery bumps on my scrotum that have re occured
let me start of my saying i am highly versed in the subject of genitals and issues that can occur as i have had everything non std related in my 28 years of life, every thing from staph to ringworm, with in the last year i have not had un protected sex and i wash the area regularly.
on to symptoms,

First occurrence:
the bumps when they first occurred are in a row roughly 1/2 cm to 1 cm apart and seemed to be next to the hair follicle
raised from the skin
were XXXXXXX to brownish in color.
seemed to be an uniform circular to slightly oblong in shape
no more then 1.5mm in diameter
smooth in texture and slightly shiny
Did not itch nor have any pain associated with them

My initial concern was HPV

I attempted a cyro treatment with an over the counter wart remover
the treatment did not appear to freeze the bumps, no reaction was observed
this steers me away from the HPV diagnosis

I then removed each bump surgically via removing the sections of skin with pressure from both thumbs finger nails
the skin removed quite willingly and was done with exact precision

2 months when by and the bumps have returned in the exact locations with see exact symptoms and features however they are more skin tone in color

i have come the conclusion that this is an occurrence of a series small of sebaceous cyst, or prominence

i am scheduled to see my primary doctor on Monday but would like an opinion now
I greatly appreciate professional tone and discussion as again i am highly versed in this knowledge
and understand a great deal as i have done my research

Brief Answer:
Multiple sebaceous cysts

Detailed Answer:
Hello My Dear

Welcome

I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Sr Dermatologist. I have noted the details and examined pics carefully. I will do my best to help solve your concerns.

These match sebaceous cysts.
Most often, these remain silent or get filled up with secretions, (cheesy in character), burst and fill up again.
There are various treatments for such lesions. In a person with your profile, I would recommend extraction of the whole cyst along with its capsule under local anesthesia. That would eliminate any chance of recurrence of the same cyst.

Any method does not include removal of complete cyst has low success rate.

After the removal, a few hours rest will be needed. Most patients are comfortable to resume normal work from the next day itself. However, this may vary depending upon several factors.Your doctor might prescribe some antibiotic for you for a short duration.

I will be glad to answer any further queries that you may like me to answer.

My best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Rationale explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello My Dear

You are welcome with your query

Sebaceous cysts have following characteristics;

1 Their surface is smooth (generally rough in warts)

2 Growth is slow

3 Contain cheesy whitish or off white material that tends to fill up ( not so in warts)

4 Bear no correlation with sexual activity

5 Closeness to hair follicle may be visible in some cases

6 Tend to recur at the same spot.

7 Visual or graphic representation.

Genital warts would generally occupy mucosal surfaces and have rough surface.

I am sure this helps you in understanding the problem better and clears your doubt.

Best wishes.
