Brief Answer:
you should start antibiotics.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question on HCM.

In my opinion along with inhaler you should start antibiotic (broad spectrum) as cough production denotes infection. And one of the reason for asthma symptoms is infection. So antibiotics should be given in your case. In my practice I use fluoroquinolone group antibiotic. Take it for 5 days.

Do regular warm saline gargles.

One more thing I would suggest is that, take inhaler in proper way (please read instruction manual) and rinse your mouth after its use. As many times just due to improper technique, patients are not getting benefits.

You can also start oral antihistamines and oral bronchodilator.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
nodules in the lung can be due to infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your query.

I need detailed CT report as nodules in the lung can be due to
1. Infection
2. Old healed lesion
3. Inflammatory lesions.
But infections are more common. So better to start with antibiotics.

my doctor is refusing to put me on antibiotics. he believes I have a virus. can a virus last 6 weeks?

Brief Answer:
viral infections are not last for 6 weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hi deal, thanks for your follow up. Usually viral infections are short lived and self limiting in 1-2 weeks.
But can be complicated by super added bacterial infection.
You can go for CBC (Complete Blood Count) and in this report if total white cells are raised than you are having bacterial infection.
This is another marker for bacterial infection.
Hope I have cleared your queries. If you are not having further queries, please rate the answer and close the conversation. Thanks.
