Brief Answer:
Cough may take few weeks to resolve

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to Health Care Magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems as if acute phase of throat infection is well over as other signs of infection too have subsided. Specially no fever and sputum indicates good signs and showing recovery.

However, if throat gets severely traumatized or eroded because of aggressive coughing bouts, it may take few weeks to completely recover and healing itself leads to fibrous tissue formations and formation of new layers of tissue may appears like an itch and it may also lead to coughing.

You can keep using cough syrup as well hot beverages as these may help with the symptoms. Mean while avoid cold, fizzy or sour drinks or foods. Using saline in XXXXXXX warm water for gargles may help with the cough relief.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Regards.
