Brief Answer:
Need more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Cough for more than 2 weeks may be a concern. However your description of symptoms and the fact that other associated complaints have resolved makes me feel it may be an allergic or viral condition. And cough secondary to allergic and viral causes take few weeks to a month to settle down. That being said, I would like more information from you to make sure that I don't miss concerning causes. Therefore please answer my below questions:
1.     Do you have fever with cough?
2.     Is it a productive cough or dry one?
3.     Do you get chest pain after coughing?
Kindly revert with the above questions so I can advise you further.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Easily curable with following advice

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
As you have a dry cough without fever it means its viral or allergic kind of cough only. Post nasal drip is also a manifestation of allergic / cold reaction.
I would like to advice slight change in the syrup you are taking.
The one you are taking, Robitussin EX is useful for people who have productive cough. What you need is antitussive syrup that also contains antihistaminic drug which will help you get relief faster. Instead of Robitussin EX, ask for Robitussin DM and take in same dosage as you were taking before.
Also advisable is to take steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus extract which will provide you with symptomatic relief.
Avoid being in cooler temperatures, no cold, oily food in diet till you get better.
Kindly follow this advice for 1 week and I hope you will be free of your symptoms.
I hope I have given satisfactory answer to your query, if you still have any more query kindly write back to me and I will be happy to help.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Yes that will also be effective

Detailed Answer:
Hello, thanks for posting on HCM.
I checked the contents of the syrup you mentioned and it will has the same content as I have advised you earlier. It will provide you with better recovery. Take 2 teaspoons twice a day.
For the itchy throat, you have to understand that it is an allergic manifestation which cause throat to be itchy and cause it to cough.
Firstly avoid the allergen totally if you know what you are allergic to. Common things for allergy are- excess pollutant gases, dust, pollen grains, air-conditioned air etc. In food there are peanuts, eggs, tomatoes etc. Try to find out the allergen for you and avoid it further.
You can try doing gargling with warm water and putting 1 spoon of salt in it which will help to decrease the irritation at throat.
Some home remedies like drinking 1 spoon of honey which coats the throat and reduces irritation will also help. Or you can try turmeric and hot milk which will give relief to throat.
As it is allergic reaction and itching of throat you need to give it time to heal and meanwhile trying these other remedies will keep the irritation at minimum.
I hope I have given satisfactory answer to your query, if you still have any more query kindly write back to me and I will be happy to help.
Thank you
