Question: I have a cough and it goes, feels like XXXXXXX in back of the throat. Gets a little more in the night, no runny nose or fever, I'm i going to have to do a chest x ray. What is a cough medicine I could try over the counter or a natural remedy you recommend ? Thanks

Brief Answer:
different options available

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you have a history of recurrent allergie/sinus problems then this is a possible cause, if this is not the case, then a cold is likely.
It can take 7 to 10 days for most of cough/cold symptoms to resolve.

The treatment is mostly the same in terms of medication.

The use of a decongestant cough suppressant combination would be best. The decongestant would help get rid of the mucus in the back of the throat.
A mucolytic (medication to break up mucus) can also be added so that any mucus can be easily expelled.

There are different types of robitussin- the peak cold maximum strength and severe multisymptom cough and cold may help
Other options would be panadol multisymptom, mucinex fast XXXXXXX cold

Fluids and rest are also important

I hop this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
