Brief Answer:
Give Racecadotril granules and zinc supplement

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. Most likely cause of these symptoms in kids is a self limiting viral gastroenteritis which improve over few days.

I would recommend you to continue the treatment as advised by your pediatrician. Also, start zinc supplement such as Syp ZnD or Zinconia (5ml once daily for 14 days) and Racecadotril granules (30 mg thrice daily) for early recovery. Ensure regular feeds and oral fluids to prevent dehydration.

Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care

Hello Dr,
Thanks a lot for your response and shall follow as instructed.
however, his diet has lowered, for that matter to be said, he is under weight (14kg) & height (105cm) to his age of 5yrs. Now that he has deteriorated with his diet. He, now started to throw up what ever he eats. He vomitted 3 times in 3 days (2 at nights and 1 in the afternoon today after food).
We are unsure for today;s incident was because of milk in the morning.

He is normally an adverse to eat.

Please advice.

Brief Answer:
Do not force feed and avoid dairy products for a week

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Do not worry. Poor appetite after an episode of gastroenteritis is normal symptom in kids. It's most likely due to associated gastritis and mild lactose intolerance.
I would recommend you to start him on Tablet Junior lanzol (15mg) dispersable tablet once before breakfast for 5 days along with milk restriction for a week.
You may start him on Syp. Bevon twice daily after a week for poor appetite. Ensure a protein rich diet such as eggs, meat, fish, broccoli, pulses, soya beans etc along with plenty of fluids. Do not force feed. This cause aversion in children for foods. Let him enjoy it by taking meals together and making his favourite food a part of diet plan in a healthy way.

Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
