Question : I have had a persustent dry cough for over a year now. I also have severe tenderness down on be side of my neck and an area that is really pain ful to touch where my neck and colarbone meet or there abouts. how would i tell if this neck pain was my lymphnodes?

I can understand your concern

Usually in patients with your concern and when we should examine for lymphonodes according to the history we order an ultrasound of the soft issues of the affected area in both sides.

If it comes positive nad if is associated with dry cough than the next step in the examination might be chest CT if needed.

However it is your doctor that knows better the actual clinical situation of the patient who will decide about the above.
