Question : Hi
I chatted with you 2 days back with a complaint regarding cold and mild fever. As suggested by you, I am taking dolo, citrizen and nasal drops. Till now, I did not get relief from cold. Today it is more severe, I am unable to concentrate on anything. Please help me out. Thanks

I need few more details.
Do you have fever in last two days?If yes,did you record your temperature?
Do you have sore throat,cough or other symptoms?
Are you taking any medication other than dolo and cetrizine?
Do you have headache and pain over cheeks?

For common cold it will take 5-7 days to resolve.
If it increases it may be due to allergens.
Avoid exposure to cold whether and eating cold food.
Meantime I would suggest you Cetrizine 10 mg twice a day.

Thanks for reply. Please find the answer for your questions.

Do you have fever in last two days?
No fever for last two days.

If yes,did you record your temperature?
No

Do you have sore throat,cough or other symptoms?
Yes I have sore throat and mild cough since afternoon.

Are you taking any medication other than dolo and cetrizine?
Using Cetrizine 10mg, Dolo and Nosal drops.

Do you have headache and pain over cheeks?
No Headache and no pain over cheeks. But pain in throat and nose. Still the disturbance in ear.

Mostly Upper respiratory tract infection.

Thanks for your information.
Your symptoms suggest Upper respiratory tract infection or seasonal allergy.
I would suggest you Cetrizine 10 mg twice a day and chericof syrup(for cold and cough) twice a day.
Salt water or betadine gargles twice a day.
Steam inhalation thrice a day, you can take with vicks vaporub.
Do not take dolo if you do not have fever.
Continue nasal drops.Drink warm water.
If you will not improve after 2 days I suggest you visit an ENT doctor for clinical examination and to rule out other possibility like allergic rhinitis or to start antibiotics.
