Question : Hello doctor, i need to ask you about fungi infections and how well to treat it. More so, it's been disturbing me for a very long time
Brief Answer:
Use antifungal for 3 months
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Fungal infection is known for recurrence.
Usually, the infection gets controlled within two weeks and reoccurs on stopping the medication.
I treat such cases with a combination of oral and topical antifungal medication.
A combination of oral Fluconazole 150 mg per week and ointment Clotrimazole to be applied twice daily works well.
This combination should be used for at least 3 months continuously.
In addition, use a Ketoconazole based soap and maintain good personal hygiene.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
