Brief Answer:
Migraine headaches

Detailed Answer:
Good evening. I am an adult neurologist and headache specialist in the XXXXXXX Ohio region of the world. I'm not sure exactly what your question is aside from wanting to find a neurologist in California...big state....what part of California are in you in? Were you successfully controlled on BOTOX from your previous neurologist? I guess by "controlled" I would ask if you had less than 1 headache per week and also have great rescue medications for your breakthroughs. If you were not under at least that good type of control then, I would suggest that you need to make improvements on your status as opposed to simply finding someone who is going to replicate your current treatment. As it stands it sounds like you get bad nausea/vomiting. Are you prescribed anything for those episodes?

I definitely would recommend that if you've had headaches all your life then, the doctor you really want to hook up with should be at least a neurologist if not a Headache Specialist.

In terms of finding an appropriate specialist you could always call the closest Academic Medical Center and check in with their Neurology service to ask for names of headache specialists. Virtually all big academic facilities have headache specialists. You could also check with your former neurologist to see if they have any connections with colleagues who practice in the area where you're living.

I hope this answer satisfactorily addresses your question. If so, may I ask your favor of a HIGH STAR RATING with some written feedback?

Also, if there are no other questions or comments, I'd appreciate it greatly if you would CLOSE THE QUERY on your end so this question can be transacted and archived for further reference by colleagues as necessary.

Please direct more comments and questions to me in the future at:

All the best.
