Question: I am 52... I have had 2 children one at 20 yrs old and one at 25 years old, both normal pregnancies.in 1991 I had a tubal ligation, 2014 March, April and May I had continuous daily heavy bleeding with large clots, soaking through pads and clothing. May 20, 2014 I had an ablation, On the 4th of XXXXXXX 2015 I had severe cramping with a gush of blood. Had an untrasound stating "thickened and heterogeneous endometrium containing moderate amount of complex fluid and a cyst in the left ovary. Right ovary could not be seen. I am not on any medication nor have I ever smoked. Is this cause for worry?

Brief Answer:
hysterectomy is reasonable option

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Considering your age, symptoms and difficulties, hysterectomy with ovariectomy is reasonable option and it will lead to complete disappear of your symptoms. Medications has limited efficiency and it may not be helpful. Cysts and endometrial thickening may be precancerous so sooner or later it will have to be removed. After removal there are no any consequences. Soul need hormonal therapy maybe and that's it. Wish you good health.Regards
