I will attend as per your last query which in real has 4 sub- queries,to the point-

Q-final query. I tend to have notable bleeding in some bowel movements and sometimes they don't bleed at all-
Ans-Dear,sometimes you bleed more with SPLASH IN THE STOOL PANS- which is due to the Constipaton with strong obstruction to pass stools,which is more at that event,
And when you mostly have eaten high energy non-veg/spicy food with alcohol? in case you take it?which makes the stool hard.
At such occasions You should have 2 Banana Milk /or thin watery sweet-Butter Milkshakes on that day to counter.

Q-. Is this characteristics of hemorroids or is their any other possibility I should look into?? -
Ans-This heavy bleeding with hard stools accompanied with constipation and heavy obstruction is very common,association with each of the hemorrhoid cases.So you need to drink plenty water / fluids and juices, which with inbuilt sorbitol sugar,keeps your stool soft and prevents from becoming more hard in given condition,explained as above.

Q- When I do bleed it's bright fresh blood. Just would like to cover all possible bases. -this fresh blood is very characteristic of any rectal and colon-bleeding.In your case we know it is from the Internal Piles earlier and lately with painful Fissure In Ano,caused from hard stools,which is the result of your lifestyle and food habits.
The base of your bleeding is the Internal Piles with Fissure In Ano-with painful anus,when you get painful bleeding.
