Posted on Mon, 31 Aug 2015
Question: I have joint aches and have felt awful for a week, went to Dr and she said that there was no sign of inflammation in my ear nose throat by exam. urine sample showed no bacteria high white count. I had recently been on vacation and had removed 2 deer ticks neither were biting at time of removal.she dismissed that. Later that day my lower right lip and chin became numb (feels like novocaine) and I started to have pain, I have been taking Aleve or Advil but it doesn't last for more than an hour. I will be seeing the dentist on Tuesday anything I can do before then.

Brief Answer:
Possible non specific Viral illness.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your concern.

You possibly seem to have seasonal viral illness.

This could possibly be Chikungunya like Viral illness.

This will subside on its own.

Carry your doctor orders,Maintain adequate hydration.

All you need meanwhile is tab Paracetamol 650 mg one tab twice a day for 3 days.

Additionally tab Diclofenac 100 mg post breakfast for 3 days will help to control symptoms.

Please take the drugs under medical supervision.

You might need further tests only if symptoms does not resolve in 72 hours.

That seems unlikely since it's very rare in the us. I think this site is a rip off.
