Question : my son has been nauseous on and off for a few weeks immediately after eating. He hasn't lost any weight and he seems fine within the hour after eating.

Such symptom can be caused by gallstones or stomach issues like an ulcer or inflammation of stomach/esophagus.
Both issues can give upper abdominal pain however it is not always present. He may have bitter taste in the mouth as well.
If he has also loose stool or diarrhea, bacterial infection of gastrointestinal tract should be also considered.
I suggest him to have some tests. He should start with abdominal ultrasound and blood work. Gastroscopy should be next.

He had similar symptoms back a few years ago and he had strep throat but no throat pain. They said the nausea was caused by the strep throat.

Does his tonsils look swollen?

Yes, his tonsils look swollen indeed. With such tonsils for sure he may have some nausea when swallowing. Feeling of bulge in the throat should be present. Please consult laryngologist with it. He may need tonsils removal.
