Question: I have had consistent and persistent pain in my right lower abdomen and back for about 5 hours now. The pain is sometimes sharp and I am burping a fair amount. What is your diagnosis and what should I do?

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound and blood work are necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Lower right abdomen is very hard to diagnose area. In this point pain can be caused by appendicitis, urinary tract infection, ovary cyst, inguinal hernia and even colon cancer located in the cecum.
Pain which radiates to the back is usually caused by urinary tract issues. However all other mentioned possibilities should be ruled out.
Frequent urinating, burning while urinating, fever can be present as well in case of urinary tract issues.

If you have hear rate higher than 100 per minute, this might be serious condition.

I suggest you to visit ER. Abdominal ultrasound and blood work, urine analysis should be done. Without this tests, diagnosis can not be established.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
