Suggest Treatment For Persistent Phantosmia
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am sensing bad smell in my nose. I don't see any secretions or running nose etc. donno why is this bad odor is developing since 2 to 3 months. I do wash my nose cleanly every day still it didn't stop.
Its not continuously coming but 2 to 3 times a day and 2 to 3 days in a week I feel this bad odor in nose.
I tried cleaning with iodine but it is painful. I don't get this odor the day I clean but from next day it is the same.
Please help to get rid of this. what measures should I take ?

I would advice get ENT examination done & nose endoscopy to know cause.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
get ENT examination done & nose endoscopy .
Till then Use Saline nasal spray like Solspre nasal wash 3 puff each nostril thrice daily to keep nose clean &
Antihistaminic Fexofenadine like Tab Allegra at night to decrease any minute secretion & bad smell. Thick Nose secretions are difficult to see on simple examination by your naked eye, you will need nose examination by specialist.
You will get relief .
