Brief Answer:
What antibiotic and for how long have you been on it?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this sinus infection that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and it is suggestive of a possible sinus infection. If your doctors came to that conclusion, then it is most likely the truth. I will like to know what drugs you were prescribed for this, how you take it, for how long you have been taking it. Also, I would like to know if you have noticed any improvement or not since you started taking this medication.

With the right diagnosis, failure of treatment could be due to the wrong drug, dosage or maybe to early to judge whether it is working good or not. This normally calls for review of treatment.

If clearly the treatment is not working, further tests would be needed. In this case, imaging tests such as Xray and Ct scan and blood tests would help us make sure that the diagnosis was right and there are no other conditions that may make specific treatment options not considered at this time necessary. After review the findings, the diagnosis or treatment would be adjusted to address the exact disease condition.

In all, provide the above information. If it is not conclusive, I will recommend further testing evaluation to map out the exact nature of this disease and treat accordingly.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Hope to hear from you and feel free to request for any specific information that you are interested in if not already provided.

Brief Answer:
I will suggest they get a Culture!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this follow up question.

The multiple antibiotics suggest that they strongly believe you have an ongoing infection. I will recommend that they get a culture of a specimen from the nose and throat to identify the exact germ that is responsible for this this infection and what exact antibiotic would work agains the germs. Utilizing multiple antibiotics without any guiding principle actually makes the chances of treating this infection fully difficult.

In all, talk to your doctors and recommend that you get a culture. This would:
1. Identify the germ and confirm the infection and
2. Say what exact antibiotic is required and stop further trials that have not worked in the past.

I hope this helps. Let me know if this is something you would be doing anytime soon!

Hey no I don't have a script but he said my white blood count is at 1.1 and it's normally 1.8 he told me it's all the antibiotics and body fighting infection bit not sure what that means
But the results showed sinus inflammation in the nose
Apo-clindamycin 450 3 time a day for 10 days is what the have me on now on day 4 and don't feel much better

Brief Answer:
Am sorry but seems you didn’t get the numbers right.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Please, the numbers are not consistent. However, I have no reasons to think there is any problem with it else your doctor would have raised the concerns. Like I recommended, I will strongly recommend a culture so long as you are not feeling much improved.

I wish you well and do well to keep me updated about the progress on this.
