Brief Answer:
may need a throat swab

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Sore throat can be due to infections (viral or bacterial, viral more common) or post nasal drip (most commonly due allergies).

Since there is a recent history of bacterial infection requiring antibiotics, your doctor would first need to determine if the infection has recurred or did not completely respond to the antibiotics.
A throat swab may be needed to go the lab to determine if this is the case.

The swab would also help to determine which antibiotics would work best if infection is confirmed.

If there is no infection then it is possible that the symptoms may be due to the drip of mucus itself and treatment would involve antihistamine/decongestant combination as well as topical steroid nasal sprays such as nasonex, nasocort, flonase, rhinocort

The oral antihistamine/decongestant combinations would be available over the counter but the nasal sprays may require a prescription

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
