Question : I have been sick for 3 weeks and today is my last day of amoxicillin 500. I had a bad sore throat headache and cough. I still have aches and pain headache and low grade fever and worn out. should I go back to the doctor?

being sick for more than 3 weeks with a sore throat, headache and cough needs investigation for the cause. The most common pathogens cause diseases that last for 5-7 days. Infectious mononucleosis may last for much longer but this is a disease of the young. HIV infection and some uncommon pathogens may also cause such a protracted disease.
The potential causes are not always infectious though, so a new clinical encounter and perhaps laboratory testing may help.
