Question : My husband is 78 and has developed tinnitus. Sometimes it wakes him up at night it gets so loud..other times it just sounds like whoosh, whoosh.
Is there any way to fix this?
Appreciate any advice you can give.

Brief Answer:
Tinnitus is not a disease it is only a symptom
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
Tinnitus as such is not a disease that can be cured. It is a symptom of a disease hence , the cause of the disease has to be found out.
If you have any other symptoms along with tinnitus like ear pain and discharge it could be due to ear infection. That needs to be evaluated by an ENT surgeon.
If you have headache or nausea or dizziness please get CT brain done .
Once the problem is solved the tinnitus will automatically come down.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
