Brief Answer:
Nitrofurantoin or Amoxyclav

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for question.
If I am right your doctor would have given Trimethoprim+Sulphmethaxole first. The other one which breaks the tendons are Ciprofloxacin group.
I think if the infection is uncomplicated simple cystitis your doctor can try nitrofurantoin (Macrobid) 100 mg orally twice a day for 5-7days. Alternatively Amoxcyllin plus clavulinic acid 625mg twice a day for 5-7 days is also good option.

Please take this options to your doctor.

Brief Answer:
You can use Trimethoprim combination if not allergic to sulfa

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The side effects of the previous antibiotic would not last long. They would not leave long term effects as well. Please do not worry.
Nitrofurantoin is very good drug for UTI, I suggest to continue it. Alternatively you can use Trimethoprim combination which I mentioned.
UTI is simple and easily treatable yet so you should not worry. Anxiety can cause more peeing so stop being.
