Suggest Treatment For Petechiae On The Arms

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Jun 2017
Question: I have a high MPV of 11.8 fl, but all of the other parameters in my CBC looked great. I am Vitamin D deficient and slightly high trigylcerides, but otherwise have very healthy parameters. My doctor didn't seem concerned, but should I seek another opinion? I have great blood pressure, but have some splotches of petechiae on my arms. I'm wondering if these are correlated.

Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
No,these are not correlated. as a matter of fact, petechiae may be sign of low MPV,not high, since low thrombocyte count may lead to deflate bleeding and skin capillaries to burst. Also, this value is just slightly high and some references consider this to be normal. If your hemoglobin and red blood count are fine then there is no need to worry. High triglycerides can be managed with adequate diet. If you ask me,all you need is to take vitamin d supplements and check blood picture in 3 months. Wish you good health. Regards
