Question : How do you get rid of phlegm? Had blood clot on lung.

Hi

As you explain the history for the phlegm you can use acetylcysteine in tablets twice orally for some days but the phlegm might be from cardiac problems too.

Usually phlegm is not related to pulmonary embolism however try the above and monitor the situation.

No i don't think you need a prescription for it.You can get it in the drug store.It improves the fluidity of the phlegm.
