Brief Answer:
ideally a Pulmonologist should be consulted..

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxxxx, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your husband,

Since it's been going on for some time, and as you've already seen a doctor as mentioned, so ideally he should be checked up by a pulmonologist (Chest physician) for a thorough clinical examination as well as a battery of investigations (a hemogram, sputum microscopy, stainings and culture, sensitivity assay, chest X-ray, if inconclusive then Cat scan of thorax and few others)..

As he's already receiving the symptomatic therapy, and since it's not yet resolved, so it's better to get thoroughly evaluated for the same, management will be based on the findings..

Please let me know if there's any further queries..

Wish him the very best of health
Take Care
Kind Regards
