                                    Brief Answer:
Go for surgery
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Pilonodal sinus can be totally treated only with surgery.
Antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs can be used only to control the infection for sometime.
Please ask him to meet a surgeon and get it removed.
It's a minor surgery and is safe as well as effective.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

                                    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. He has undergone surgery last night. The doctor told him that he might have to undergo another surgery 2/3 months later in order to do the filling. Is this really required? If filling is really required then can't it be done while removing the cyst itself.

Just meet for a general check up
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Usually the tract heals after surgery and another surgery is not required however there are chances that a small part of tract remains and another surgery might be required to close it.
Just relax there is nothing to worry.
Your brother just needs to meet the surgeon after 3 months for a general check up.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
