Question: i have had a swollen foot and filling up with fluid for a. month now. when u press on it. it leaves a indent for a minute feeling. a little dizzy

Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/25 - swollen foot - for a month - pitting - little dizzy - seen the attached picture...
The picture shows that there is pitting edema of the right foot, involving the toes too. This is in more favor of venous. This may not be lymphatic as the toes are spared when the cause is lymphedema.

The commonest cause of edema on one side only indicate the following:
- varicose veins or incompetent venous valves .
- DVT meaning Deep venous thrombosis.
I would advise you to consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and get an appointment for ultrasound with color doppler examination of the affected leg.
Elevate the leg above the heart level in laying down position.
Maintain good hemoglobin and serum proteins.
The treatment solely depends upon the diagnosis made.
Please give feedback of the report of the color doppler.
