Question : My feet hurt in morning. This started about a month ago.
What should I do?
What should I do?
Brief Answer:
Could be plantar fascitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel, Orthopedic Surgeon.
Feet hurting in the morning and improving after walking is generally due to a condition called Plantar fasciitis. It is very difficult to put heel down in the morning and as you walk , the pain goes down. Sometimes there is a bony growth called inferior calcaneal spur which causes pain.
For this I suggest Pain killers ,Heat to heel twice daily and use of silicone heel pads. If there is no improvement in two weeks time then x ray of both feel lateral views are to be done.
Local Steroid injections may be required after 2 weeks.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
