Brief Answer:
Ponytail Headaches

Detailed Answer:
Good evening.

The simple answer to your question is YES....placing one's hair up in a bun and tieing it with a braid, band, etc. can definitely cause headaches to develop very slowly each day to the point where you may not even related it to having put your hair. Solution? Let your hair down, shake it out, and wait about 15 minutes. If your headaches and your scalp sensitivity get better (or in most cases go away) then, you've got your answer.

I see this sort of problem in my headache clinic at least once every 6 months or so....and I love those cases because I only need 1 visit to fix the patient and I always get either a bit hug from the patient for figured out their headaches "FINALLY" or they call me a "genius...."

So, go for it....let your hair down....and let me know what happens in 15 minutes. If after at least 15-30 minutes your head feels no differently then, you would need to get a full headache type of workup.

If I've provided useful and helpful information to your questions could you do me a huge favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and be sure to include some fine words of feedback along with a 5 STAR rating? Again, many thanks for submitting your inquiry and please let me know how things turn out.
