Question : Dear Sir,
My mother, age 53, has undergone laproscopic surgery for gallstone. After removing the stitches, I could find a small hole opening of less than a mm exactly below ribs and cntre of the body, near gall bladder. So, how to treat this?
(She is diabetic and also undergone treatment for pyelonephritis.)

Brief Answer:
Just apply liquid povidone iodine
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Read and understood the concerns.
I hope the small whole is at the port site as you mentioned.
Do not worry, usually such small whole will heal on its own.
Just apply liquid povidone iodine 2 to 4 times a day.
If it does not close in a few days, consult the Surgeon as it may need a look at whether there is a small sinus.
I hope your Mother's diabetes and pyelonephritis are under control.

If I press her hole site (port site), there oozes out greenish yellow fluid, which is sticky in nature. Do, this is a natural biological process or is due to infection?
