Question : my dr says if you are going to have a post polypectomy hemmorage it would happen within the first 7 days after the removal of the polyp. Is this old blood j am passing?
Brief Answer:
yes
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It looks to me like old coagulum which is commonly seen after such procedures. It is darker and more dense than fresh bleeding.
This should not worry you at this point.
This may happen after poylpectomies with wide base or in people whi have thinner blood or coagulation disorders. Complete heal of polyp site may take up to 12 weeks, but it should not bleed actively after 1 week. SO if this happens again, I suggest t do red blood count, but this is not worrying sign in general. Wish you good health.
