Question: I am a 50 year old women I am postmenopausal according to blood test. For the last 5 years I have used testosterone pellets only with a lot of luck. Before that tried bio identical creams with all three hormones present that didn't work and made me gain weight.
Recently I have gained about 7 to 8 pounds quickly I eat well and exercise daily sometimes 2 times a day to get in strength and cardio training. My bio identical doctor says I am estrogen dominant and a few days put me on 100 mg of prometrium which has not made me sleep at all and have felt even more bloated?
Question is should I be taking this to help with bloating and weight loss I have tried everything and feel like I am gaining daily?

Brief Answer:
Alternative advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear thanks for writing to us with your health concerns
I can understand your anxiety about the issue and know exactly what you are facing with these hormones.

In my opinion, you can start tablet Tibolone after discussing with your gynecologist which is a physiological hormone formulation and is pretty safe

It will not result in bloating or weight gain and help you with menopausal symptoms as well.

Alternatively, you can ask for hormone rings to be worn inside vagina over cervix and change it on monthly basis which is also quite effective

In case you have any other concerns please feel free to ask.

I don't have any symptoms of menapause other than recent weight gain hot flashes and night sweats have been gone for years.
Last menstruated 8 years ago...
Am I in need of any hormones?
Could that be a possibility?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Can stop and see for 6 months

Detailed Answer:
Yes Mam, of course if no symptoms and you already have stopped menstruating 8 years back then can think about not taking anything at all.
Weight gain will stop if at all was due to pills but generally around 80-90% females gain weight after menopause even if they are taking hormones or not
So you can definitely give it a try if stopping it for at least 5-6 months.
Take care
