Question : Hi Doctor,
This is about my problem of Pre-mature ejaculation.
I have been sexually active for more than one year. This kind of problem never happened before. It is one and a half month back when I got hit by premature ejaculation problem.

Can you please help me figure out necessary treatment for this ?

Note: One thing changed in between : Earlier I use to have sex once in a month but now it is a weekly thing. I don't know whether this could be a problem or not.
While masturbating, this problem doesn't come.

Brief Answer:
it is performance anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting at healthcaremagic.

From the available description it appears that you are having secondary kind of premature ejaculation which mean the problem started after the period of normal sexual activity. The presence of normal duration during masturbation indicates that you got criticized or lost erection in between resulting in rushing the sexual activity. It is not exactly premature ejaculation, it is performance anxiety. It results when you have fear of losing something during sex such as reputation, erection etc.

This commonly occurs when you have high anxiety that leads to over stimulation and discharge of semen even before you penetrate or immediately after penetrating. It is not related to frequency of sex and there is no need to cut down the frequency.

This kind of premature ejaculation can be treated by both medicines as well as psychotherapy.
Among the medicines who work over the serotonin receptors in the brain are used. Currently one among these medicine is called dapoxetine which is available in dose of 30 and 60 mg. It is advised that this should be taken about 2 hour before sexual activity. As this is a prescription drug you need to see a doctor in person to get the prescription.

The second option is psychotherapy where the therapist will tell you how to prevent the early ejaculation.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
